Russia drops bombs on residential areas of Kherson: there are victims and destruction

<span><span>This afternoon, Russian forces conducted an air strike on Kherson. The enemy dropped at least two guided aerial bombs on residential buildings, causing destruction and injuries among civilians.</span></span>

<span><span>According to the press service of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, nine people have been reported injured. Among them are six people with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds who were hospitalized. Doctors continue to provide them with the necessary assistance. Three more people were treated on the spot, including a 63-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man.</span></span>

<span><span>Among those hospitalized is a 51-year-old man with concussion and explosive trauma. All the victims are under the supervision of doctors who are conducting additional examinations.</span></span>

<span><span>The Kherson region continues to suffer from Russian terrorist targeting of civilians. The authorities and local services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack and provide assistance to the victims.</span></span>

Earlier in Naddnipryanske, Roman Matviychuk, the head of one of the neighborhood committees of Kherson's Korabelny district, was killed by a Russian drone attack.

According to the Kherson Military Command, three people were killed and ten others were wounded by Russian shelling over the past day. The enemy attacked almost 40 localities, including the regional center. Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Molodizhne, Sadove, Pryozerne, Naddnipryanske, Bilozerka, Tomyna Balka, Nadezhdivka, Stanislav, Sofiyivka, Shyroka Balka and others came under fire and air strikes.

The attacks damaged two apartment buildings, four private estates, an outbuilding, agricultural machinery, and several cars.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, on January 8, 2025, at about 18:00, the Russian military once again attacked Beryslav using a UAV.

A 27-year-old man who was on the street was killed as a result of the explosive drop.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated over the commission of a war crime that resulted in the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
