The Housing and Communal Services Department of the Izmail City Council in Odesa Oblast has announced a tender for UAH 36 million 954 thousand for the overhaul of an eight-apartment building in Izmail that was damaged by an enemy drone attack a year ago.

The facility is to be financed from the budget, Intent writes, citing the Prozorro public procurement website.

It is a two-storey building located at 111 Prydunayska Street (formerly Nakhimova Street), corner of Topolna Street, 2, with a total area of 474 square meters. The building's condition is currently assessed as emergency. The overhaul project envisages improving the operational characteristics of the "B" building by replacing structures unsuitable for normal operation, as well as performing repair and restoration works without changing their functional purpose.

The builders plan to restore the building by November 30, 2028. The works will be financed in four stages, with the amount of funding not exceeding UAH 9.75 million in 2025. The warranty period for the renovated building is 10 years. The auction to select a contractor is scheduled for November 5.

The house on Topolnaya Street was destroyed as a result of the attack on Izmail on the night of September 27, 2024. The shelling killed three people and injured 14 others, including three children: two boys aged 3 and 13 and a 14-year-old girl. Private and apartment buildings, outbuildings, and vehicles were damaged. People from the destroyed homes were temporarily accommodated in a kindergarten in the Kopana Balka neighborhood and in rented housing, the cost of which is compensated from the city budget at a rate of 10,000 UAH per month. The damaged apartment building was fenced with a metal profile for UAH 153 thousand. The city budget also allocates funds to provide round-the-clock physical security for the affected facilities. Since the September attack, more than UAH 960,000 has been allocated for this purpose.
