Residents cover Kherson region with fire and damage to gas pipeline

Russian troops shelled more than 30 settlements in Kherson region, hitting social infrastructure, residential buildings and businesses. Eight people were wounded as a result of the attacks.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

Between May 17 and 18, 2025, Kherson region came under massive attacks by Russian troops again. Dozens of settlements were under enemy fire, including Kherson, Antonivka, Beryslav, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Osokorivka, Novotyanka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Tokarivka, Romashkove, Tyahyanka, Kizomys, Shyroka Balka, Vesele, Havrylivka, Kozatske, Oleksandrivka, Sofiyivka, Rakivka, Tomaryne, Burgunka, Mykolaivka, Odradokamyanka, Novoraysk and Novooleksandrivka.

One person was killed and 13 others were wounded in the attacks, including civilians who fell victim to drone attacks in Beryslav and Bilozerka.

At least two high-rise buildings and ten private houses were destroyed. The shells hit a gas station, telecommunication towers, gas pipelines, and outbuildings. A truck with humanitarian aid and several private cars were damaged.

The occupants hit residential areas, critical and railroad infrastructure. A service station, a garage, a cell tower, a gas pipeline, and a private car were also damaged.

On May 16-17, Russian troops again shelled civilian settlements in the Kherson region, with more than 25 villages and towns coming under fire. In Beryslav, a 50-year-old man was killed by a drone attack, and at least 13 other people were injured. The shells hit high-rise buildings, private homes, a gas station, a gas pipeline, outbuildings, and telecommunications towers, and a humanitarian truck and private cars were damaged.

On May 16, Russian troops shelled the Kherson railway station for the second time; at the time of the attack, passengers and employees were there, but everyone managed to take cover. The station building was destroyed, windows were smashed, office space and one of the passenger train cars were damaged.

Over the course of the day from May 15 to 16, 2025, more than 25 settlements in the Kherson region came under enemy fire. The attacks damaged 3 multi-storey buildings, 7 private houses, destroyed a gas pipeline, outbuildings and several private cars. The shelling killed one person and injured another.
