The State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District responded to a report received through the EcoThreat app about unauthorized accumulation of construction waste among residential buildings in the village of Veselynove.

This was reported by the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District.

Specialists who arrived at the site documented the violation of environmental legislation. The local resident who illegally occupied the land plot for garbage disposal was brought to administrative responsibility under Articles 53, 53-1 and 82 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

In addition, the owner of the land plot - a local government body - was sent a notice to take measures to eliminate the violation.

Earlier, Intent wrote that the Scythian mound in Odesa region is turning into a spontaneous landfill due to the negligence of local residents. Utilities clean up the waste, but without community involvement, the problem recurs.

Recently, large volumes of household and construction waste left by local residents were found near the mound. According to the community, employees of the utility company regularly clean up such dumps, but they reappear.

Residents were urged to report facts of littering and violations of the rules of landscaping to the hotline. The community was reminded that littering is not only disrespectful to the environment, but also an offense. In accordance with the rules of landscaping and Article 152 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, such actions are subject to administrative fines: for citizens - from UAH 340 to UAH 1,360, for officials and entrepreneurs - from UAH 850 to UAH 1,700.
