Criminal police operatives detained a 23-year-old resident of Izmail, Odesa region, in Zhytomyr on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act.
According to the press service of the National Police, the woman made an improvised explosive device to be used in the regional center.
She agreed to fulfill the order of a representative of the Russian special services for a reward. According to the operative information, the woman found a job in the Telegram channel - distributing narcotic and psychotropic drugs. In addition, on the instructions of her supervisor, she was supposed to buy, register and top up telecom operator numbers for Telegram channel administrators.
Investigators found that on another instruction from the Russian curator, the woman was to prepare a terrorist attack in Zhytomyr to destabilize the situation and intimidate citizens. To do this, she came to the regional center and rented an apartment in the central part of the city. Over the course of several days, the detainee bought items and substances necessary to create an improvised explosive device. After preparing the components, she began to manufacture it, but was unable to complete it - she was detained by law enforcement.
Mobile phones, substances, tools and accessories for making an improvised explosive device were seized from the apartment. One of the phones showed the fact of recording a military object. The woman was served a notice of suspicion of high treason under martial law. The court has now imposed a measure of restraint on her in the form of detention.
Earlier, a former Odesa official, who was previously linked to Roman Nalyvanyi's apartment scams, was convicted in absentia for collaboration. The court found that after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, Nalyvanyi found himself in the temporarily occupied Kherson region, where he voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the occupation authorities no later than September. He headed an illegally created structure - the so-called housing office in the Suvorov district of Kherson.
