In a night operation on the peninsula, Ukrainian reconnaissance men dealt a significant blow to the enemy's maritime and radar infrastructure. Several key enemy objects simultaneously lost their combat capability.
This was reported by the press service of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
On the night of April 18-19, 2026, a special unit of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine "Phantoms" conducted a successful operation in the temporarily occupied Crimea, hitting several high-value targets of Russian troops.
Two large landing ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the Yamal Project 775 and the Nikolai Filchenkov Project 1171, came under attack. At the time of the attack, both vessels were in Sevastopol Bay.
"The Yamal, built in 1988, is capable of carrying up to 500 tons of cargo, including armored vehicles and troops. Its estimated value exceeds $80 million. The other damaged ship, the Nikolai Filchenkov, commissioned in 1975, has a cargo capacity of up to 1,000 tons and can transport dozens of pieces of equipment and a significant number of troops. It is estimated to cost more than $70 million.
According to intelligence, both ships used by Russia in the war against Ukraine are out of commission.
In addition, as part of the operation, Ukrainian forces destroyed the Podlyot-K1 radar station, which provided air target detection. The cost of such a complex is about $5 million.
According to the press service, the strike was another indication that even in the deep rear of the occupied Crimea, Russian military infrastructure remains vulnerable to Ukrainian forces.
In April, the fighters of the Alpha Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine also conducted a comprehensive operation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, causing significant losses to the Russian Navy and auxiliary infrastructure.
Three ships of the Russian Navy came under attack at once: the Yamal large amphibious assault ship, the Azov large amphibious assault ship, and another ship, the type of which is currently being specified. Separately, there are reports of a possible defeat of the anti-sabotage boat Project 21980 "Grachonok".
