Due to the security situation, the railway service on the Mykolaiv-Kherson section has been temporarily replaced by bus transportation.

This was reported on the website of Ukrzaliznytsia.

"Our monitoring teams are working in an enhanced mode, so train traffic will be organized taking into account the security situation," they said.

In the event of a prolonged air alert in Mykolaiv, passengers are asked to stay in shelters and wait for further instructions from the staff. Changes to the travel schedules also affected the northern and eastern regions. In particular, in Sumy and Chernihiv regions, regional trains are temporarily running only to Konotop, and adapted suburban schedules have been introduced in Nizhyn. In Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, passengers traveling from Lozova to Kramatorsk are currently being transported by bus, although regional express trains to Izyum continue to run as scheduled.

A similar situation is observed in Zaporizhzhia, where connections to Dnipro are organized mainly with the involvement of bus carriers. Passengers are advised to follow the instructions of train crews, watch for announcements at train stations and activate push notifications in the Ukrzaliznytsia app to receive up-to-date information.

As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia has assigned an additional group of cars to Chisinau from Odesa and Kyiv - tickets are on sale for dates starting from December 20, 2025. As explained by Ukrzaliznytsia, this is a response to the complications of crossing the Moldovan border by other means of transport as a result of the Russian attack on the bridges across the Dniester and the Dniester Estuary in Odesa region.

The company said that it would continue to increase the capacity of its connections with Chisinau if necessary, so that all residents of both countries could move freely between Moldova and Ukraine.
