Pseudo-deputy of the occupation state council, who helped to seize Crimea, will be tried

The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol sent to court an indictment against a "deputy" of the occupation "State Council of the Republic of Crimea" who had previously participated in the activities of the illegal armed group "Self-Defense of Crimea".

According to the investigation, in 2024, a resident of Simferopol voluntarily registered as a candidate for "deputy" from the regional branch of the Russian party "United Russia" and participated in campaigning during the illegal "election campaign" in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

After the illegal "elections", the man was declared a "deputy" of the Russian-controlled "State Council of the Republic of Crimea".

The prosecutor's office notes that the accused is currently involved in the work of the occupation authorities and contributes to the implementation of the aggressor state's policy on the peninsula. His actions were classified under the article on collaboration. The sanction provides for up to ten years in prison.

Earlier, law enforcement officers submitted to the court an indictment against the commander of an illegal armed group in a village of the occupied peninsula. According to the investigation, in February 2014, a citizen of Ukraine organized the creation of a unit of the "Crimean Self-Defense" in Gurzuf to assist the Russian military in the seizure of the peninsula. In March of the same year, the accused, together with his subordinates and other "self-defense" members, armed with firearms, participated in the seizure of the military unit A1100 - the 10th Saki Naval Aviation Brigade in Novofedorivka.

Also, in March, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to the head of the illegal armed group Feodosia Regiment of the International Union of Cossacks. According to the investigation, at the end of February 2014, he created and headed this illegal armed group, which provided assistance to Russian troops during the occupation of Crimea.
