Prosecutor's Office launches investigation into deadly attack on Kherson region's left bank

In the temporarily occupied Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region, the Russian army shelled a public transport stop. The prosecutor's office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to media reports, on the afternoon of November 26, 2024, Russian troops fired on the temporarily occupied town of Nova Kakhovka in the Kakhovka district of Kherson region.

The video shows the aftermath of the attack: a bus at a public transport stop was damaged, and there are dead and wounded.

"As part of the investigation, prosecutors, together with investigators, are taking measures to establish the circumstances of the incident, as well as the exact number of civilian casualties," the statement said.

According to the media controlled by the occupation authorities, four people were killed and seventeen others were injured in the shelling. However, Ukrainian sources have not yet confirmed this information.

Over the past day, Russian troops shelled 15 localities in the Kherson region.

According to the head of the regional military administration Oleksandr Prokudin, Antonivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Velytenske, Shyroka Balka, Mykilske, Ingulets, Beryslav, Odradokamyanka, Novovorontsovka, Shlyakhove, Mylove and Kherson were shelled and hit by air strikes.

A multi-storey building, 10 private houses, a gas pipeline, a service station, a garage and cars were damaged. 11 people were injured.

Earlier, authorities reported an increase in hostile shelling in the Kherson region. In particular, Russian aggression damaged private houses and a gas pipeline, resulting in one death and injuries.

On November 20, the shelling hit a bread distribution point, a gas station, and residential areas, resulting in the destruction of five high-rise buildings and eight private homes. One person was killed and ten others were injured, including one child.
