Traffic near the city cemeteries in Odesa may be restricted on April 19 from 6:30 to 19:00 due to enhanced security measures.
This was reported by the press service of the Patrol Police of Odesa Oblast.
The fact is that on the day of honoring the dead, patrol police officers will patrol and exercise increased control over law and order near cemeteries.
There may also be temporary restrictions on vehicle traffic near the Tairovo cemetery:
Near the Second Christian Cemetery, parking along the roadway of Lustdorfska Road was banned on that day. One-way traffic will be organized on the territory of the Western and Northern cemeteries.
Commemoration of the dead is an integral part of the celebration of Easter. The week of the funeral (also known as Hrobky, Didyty, Krasna Hirka, Mohylky, Pomynnyky, Pomynky, Provodky, Provodky, Radovnytsia, Radunytsia) is the second week after Easter, which in Ukrainian tradition is a memorial week for deceased relatives. In Ukraine, the tradition of the memorial week, the second week after Easter, is widespread, but little known in Zakarpattia and Galicia, where it is more common for parishioners of various Christian denominations to honor the memory of their ancestors on November 1, All Saints' Day.
It is the Leading (Tomina) Sunday. Like every week according to the church's regulations, the Leading Week begins on Sunday, which is the second Sunday after the feast of the Resurrection of Christ. It is called the Leading Sunday or, according to the church calendar, Thomas' (Tomas') Sunday, because on this day the Gospel passage about the faith of the Apostle Thomas is read during the Liturgy.
