The police have announced a search for 16-year-old Igor Andreiko, who went swimming at the central beach in the city of Chornomorsk, Odesa region, and disappeared.

He is approximately 164 centimeters tall, thin, has short and dark hair, brown eyes, a birthmark on the left side of the head below the hair, a birthmark on the back near the left shoulder blade, and three stripes of scars on the back under the shoulder blades, law enforcement officials said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Odesa region reported that the search for the boy continues and has so far surveyed 648,300 square meters of the sea (including 47,000 using an underwater drone) and 611 kilometers of coastline.

Rescuers began searching for Ihor Andreyka on July 29. He went missing during a storm from the central beach of Chornomorsk in Odesa region. According to the rescuers, in the evening of July 28, they received a report that a boy born in 2009 had disappeared into the sea on the city's central beach. Due to the weather conditions - strong winds and large waves - it was impossible for the diving department to conduct search operations. Therefore, the search began in the morning.

Also on July 28, the police confirmed the information about the death of two people on the beach, and the mayor of Chornomorsk, Vasyl Gulyayev, said that on that day, rescuers pulled 50 people out of the water, 10 of whom were children.

On August 15, the boy's father announced his intention to start a hunger strike near the local police station. He positioned the hunger strike as a protest against the inaction of the police of Chornomorsk and Odesa region and local authorities, accusing them of saying that only divers of the State Emergency Service were looking for the boy.
