Pensions in Odesa region are lower than the average in Ukraine

As of April 1, 2026, the average pension in Odesa region amounted to UAH 6,975, which is the 11th highest in Ukraine.

According to analysts of the Opendatabot platform, citing the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the average pension in the country is currently UAH 7,236.

This is still higher than the average pensions in Mykolaiv region - UAH 6,903 and in Kherson region - UAH 6,118.

Traditionally, the highest pensions are in Kyiv, with an average of UAH 9,864. The lowest are in Ternopil region, where the average payment is UAH 5,612. Overall, only eight regions have pensions that reach or exceed the average level. The largest increase in the average pension over the year was recorded in Rivne region by 22% and Zhytomyr region by 20%.

The average pension in Ukraine increased to UAH 7,236 after annual indexation. This is 14% more than a year ago. However, despite the increase, almost every fourth pensioner in Ukraine still receives about UAH 3,500 per month. However, over the year, the share of people with the lowest pensions decreased from 36% to 28%.

The majority of pensioners receive between 5 and 10 thousand hryvnias - 3.7 million people, or 36% of the total. The average pension in this category is UAH 6,686, and the share of such pensioners has increased from 29% to 36%.

The number of pensioners receiving more than 10 thousand hryvnias is also growing - 1.86 million. A year ago, there were 15% of them, and now there are 19%. In this group, the average pension reaches UAH 16.5 thousand.

At the same time, the share of pensioners with payments of 4 to 5 thousand hryvnias is gradually decreasing. Currently, there are 1.74 million people, or 17%, while a year ago there were about 20% of them. The average pension here is about 4,500 hryvnias.

In total, there are 10 million pensioners in Ukraine today. From January to March 2026, the number of pensioners decreased by 116 thousand. For comparison, on average, Ukraine loses about 170,000 pensioners every year. During the four years of full-scale war, the number of pensioners decreased by 740 thousand.
