In Kherson, former city council member Olha Spivakina is trying to regain her mandate in court.

This was reported by the publication MOST.

In February 2025, the head of the Kherson MBA, Roman Mrochko , prematurely terminated the powers of the city council member Olga Spivakina. At the time, it was explained that this decision was made on the basis of Spivakina's personal statement submitted on February 5, 2025.

In this regard, Olga Spivakina was removed from the Standing Committee on Finance, Budget, Investment and Regulatory Policy.

Spivakina herself stated that she did not write a letter of resignation in 2025 and believes that Roman Mrochko exceeded his authority.

According to the publication, Spivakina did write a statement, but in March 2022. But she did not physically submit the document anywhere.

She explained that in 2022 she was in a difficult moral state, so she wrote a statement that was not accepted by the then-mayor Ihor Kolikhaiev and the secretary of the city council Halyna Lugova. Since then, only she has kept this document.

Spivakina believes that she was illegally deprived of her deputy mandate because of her position on the quorum in the city council, which she had previously reported to the Ministry of Community Development.

Olha Spivakina was elected to the Kherson City Council in 2020 from the now-banned Volodymyr Saldo Bloc party. She had worked in Saldo's team for more than a decade, but during the election campaign she stated that she was no longer working with him.

Earlier, Olena Matviyets, a deputy of the Kherson City Council, was deprived of her deputy powers by the order of Roman Mrochko, head of the Kherson MVA.

Also, Volodymyr Senyk, a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council from the OPFL party, terminated his powers early.
