On the evening of October 31, downtown Odesa turned into a real carnival. City residents dressed as witches, vampires, ghosts, and other fantastical characters flooded Deribasovskaya Street and the City Garden to celebrate Halloween.

An Intenta photojournalist took to the city streets to capture the festive atmosphere.

A wide variety of costumes could be seen among the revelers. Some opted for classic witch costumes with pointed hats and black cloaks, while others wore eerie masks and makeup. Characters from horror movies appeared on the streets, including a horned demon and a person wearing a ghost mask and a fur coat with a wide collar.

There was no shortage of humor either. Odessa residents took photos with a man in a large inflatable dinosaur suit, while a girl in a black witch’s outfit and a shiny cloak posed next to him. Among the unusual costumes was also an astronaut in a light-up suit with the Ukrainian flag on his sleeve.

One of the main venues for the celebration was the historic Passage. A two-day Halloween Fest was organized there, featuring a themed fair, photo zones, a food court, children’s entertainment, and a musical program.

The highlight of the festival was the “Parade of Fantastic Looks” costume carnival. Participants gathered at the Passage and then marched down Deribasovskaya Street. The program also included a masquerade ball, musical performances, and prize giveaways.
