Odesa Trams and Trolleybuses to Integrate with MISTO Platform by April

The sensors installed in trams and trolleybuses are currently sending data to the servers of the Odesa municipality to track their movement, and by the end of March they are planned to be connected to the MISTO digital platform developed by the mayor's office.

This was reported by Petro Obukhov, a deputy of the Odesa City Council, public figure and programmer, during a live broadcast on Intent.Insight.

"Now the data is transferred to the city hall server, then to Google maps, that is, on Google maps you can now see data on Odesa trolleybuses and trams, and this is a great achievement, in fact, it is available in EasyWay, and those who use Android said that there is a convenient CityBus application. Sivash(Andriy Sivash, Director of Information and Digital Solutions at Odesa City Council) told me that they plan to add this data to MISTO in March. Given the delays, I think it will be done in April," said the deputy.

As for route taxis, their tracking remains open. It depends on the desire of the Department of Transport to involve buses and taxis in the platform.

"I think that if the Department of Transport wants to do this, it will be quite easy. This thing costs about 100 dollars. So if the Department wants to, it can "burden" the route owners to do it, but there are questions. Obviously, taxis have to stick to the schedule and this is one of the main problems. Questions will arise as to whether they actually adhere to them. Again, the tax authorities may be interested in how many trips minibuses make. I am sure that each minibus is a separate individual entrepreneur and there is no such problem there, but I would like all these issues to be as transparent as possible," said Petro Obukhov.

Odesa city authorities have announced the launch of the MISTO digital platform, which is intended to become a modern tool for improving the quality of life of residents and effective community management.
