Odesa's New Year's Eve began not with celebrations, but with explosions and air raids. Enemy drones hit energy infrastructure and residential areas.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.

During the New Year's Eve, the enemy carried out several waves of attacks with attack drones directly on Odesa. A number of emergencies were recorded in the city, including the fall of drones and their wreckage, fires at infrastructure facilities, and damage to residential buildings.

According to Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Military District Administration, Russian troops again struck at the region's energy infrastructure, which is critical to the civilian population. Facilities that provide vital services to the region came under enemy fire. A fire broke out at one of these facilities as a result of a hit.

The attack caused power outages in Odesa and the region. Critical enterprises that ensure the functioning of the city and provide basic services to the population were partially left without electricity.

All specialized services, including rescue workers, power engineers, utility companies and law enforcement, are working at the sites of the attacks. They are involved in the aftermath of the attack, extinguishing fires and restoring power supply. Information about the victims and the extent of the damage is being updated.

On the night of December 31, shelling in one of the residential buildings caused fires in apartments from the second to the sixth floors. The facade on the fifth and sixth floors was partially destroyed. Firefighters rescued eight people, including one child.
