Odesa singer Melovin mobilizes to the Border Guard Service

Odesa-born singer Konstantin Bocharov, who performs under the pseudonym Melovin, has announced his mobilization to the State Border Guard Service.

According to the singer, he will serve in the SBGS ensemble.

"This is not a new project. This is not a high-profile collaboration. This is a decision. A conscious decision. It's a real one. I am glad that I have the opportunity to become part of the Ensemble of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Music has always been my weapon. Now it will sound in the ranks. Thank you for your trust. This stage is not about the stage. It is about the country. It is about people. About service. About common strength," the singer wrote on Instagram.

Melovin (real name Konstantin Bocharov; born April 11, 1997 in Odesa. Ukrainian singer, winner of the sixth season of the Ukrainian vocal show "X-Factor" and the second season of the hyper-show "Mask". He represented Ukraine at the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest in Portugal with the song Under The Ladder, where he took 17th place in the final.

For the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, Melovin was selected as one of the jury members from Ukraine.

In April 2025, the mayor of Pivdenne, Volodymyr Novatskyi, dismissed his deputy Leonid Neykov because he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In January 2024, the first deputy mayor of Teplodar in Odesa Oblast, Andriy Makovetskyi, did the same .

In October 2023, Deputy Mayor Oleh Bryndak was dismissed from his position as vice mayor until the day he was actually discharged from military service. At that time, he was suspected of participating in a criminal organization that, according to investigators, acted in the interests of businessman Volodymyr Halanternyk.

In the summer of 2024, the Center for Public Investigations asked the Odesa City Council for the number of mobilized deputies and was informed that there were three. In addition to Oleh Bryndak, who was also a deputy, it is known that in 2022 other members of the city council also reported joining the war. This includes Ihor Batrakov, who posted on Facebook on March 4 that he had joined the Odesa police. Deputy Serhiy Uzunov has also been serving in the National Police since March 2022.

MPs Dmytro Tantsiura and Oleksandr Sheremet also announced that they had joined the territorial defense forces .
