Prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to court against the financial director of an agricultural company.

According to the press service of the prosecutor's office, he is accused of intentional tax evasion on a particularly large scale.

According to the investigation, the official deliberately failed to include in the tax reporting for the first half of 2024 part of the profit from the export of 56 thousand tons of wheat and soybeans. The grain was transported by sea through one of the ports of Odesa region to Egypt and Turkey.

Given that the amount of actual products sold and the company's income were many times higher than declared, the state budget did not receive more than UAH 118 million in taxes.

During the investigation, the defendant compensated the state in full. Earlier, detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region completed a pre-trial investigation into the case. However, the BES reported about 119 million.

Also, detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region sent to court an indictment against two officials of a construction company accused of failing to pay value added tax to the state budget in the amount of more than UAH 85 million.

The suspects had been abroad for a long time, however, the BES detectives detained them at a checkpoint on their way back to Ukraine. The court imposed on the organizer of the criminal group and the accountant of the construction company a 60-day custody as a measure of restraint with an alternative to bail.

To ensure compensation for damage to the state budget, the seized property worth almost UAH 32 million was seized.
