Investigators have sent to court the case of two men who were detained in the winter of 2026 on suspicion of influence peddling by a group of people.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.

According to the investigation, the defendants offered employment services with a reservation at a critical enterprise where the junior of them worked. The dealers promised to prepare documents, including military registration documents, which would be the basis for obtaining a deferral from military service, by influencing the military personnel of the territorial recruitment and social support centers with which they allegedly had connections.

The police documented how the criminals promised one person liable for military service in Odesa to secure a job at a critical enterprise with reservations for $3,000. Investigators detained the men after each of them received his share from the client: the younger one - $2,500, the older one - $500, as well as copies of personal documents to implement the deal.

As material evidence, the police seized money, documents and cell phones with information confirming the illegal activity from the detainees, which the court seized. The court also imposed on the defendants custody as a measure of restraint with the right to be released on bail in the amount of UAH 116.5 thousand, which they used.

According to the investigator in the case, Yuriy Tymoshchuk, the pre-trial investigation in the case is now complete. Based on a sufficient amount of evidence collected, the accomplices were charged. The indictment was sent to court for consideration.
