A scout from Odesa, a member of the 15th Kara-Dag Brigade with the call sign "Jew", who became famous in the spring after his story of defending his positions for 11 days without legs was posted on YouTube, told how his life changed after the first video.
Blogger Serhiy Peichev, author of the PRESSING channel, published a new interview with the soldier.
In this interview, Denys said that after the first video, he received a message from the battalion commander, who sent their group on a mission from which only he and one of his comrades returned alive, and the military unit explained why they decided that there were no survivors at that position.
"After the first video, the military unit contacted me and explained how it happened that they did not come for us, that they decided we were the 200th. But I was not satisfied with their explanation. They said that they had sent another group, which did not reach us and returned. They decided that we were all dead. The commander passed me a message, saying "the kid is saying everything right, but I had such a direction that I had to fight like this". And they say to me "he really lets everything go through him", "he is not a cruel person" and then I wonder if we are talking about the same person," Denys said.
The unit said that another man who left Denys and his comrade wounded in the trenches was greeted as a hero in the unit, because he brought walkie-talkies and told them that everyone was dead. He was greeted as a hero and the video allowed them to find out the truth. Denys himself says that at first he really wanted to take revenge on the traitor, but then he "let go of the situation" and now he does not think about revenge, although he is not sorry for him.
Denys also told how in the summer he was preparing to go to Soloniki for the European Championships for beginner rowers, but the deputies who initially promised to help did not provide any assistance.
"We have a big problem with corruption in Odesa. Sometimes, when we want to organize something with the team and veterans and turn to the deputies, they immediately ask us "how to light a light here" (to fake profit from the activity - ed.), and I explain that there is no way to light a light. When I start talking about building here, organizing a competition here, and the question "how can you light it here" comes up, I say there is no way, and then the conversation ends immediately," Denys noted.

We think the state should pay more attention to the military, because now this attention is hardly felt. Even the payments that Denys was supposed to receive from the state, he began to receive regularly after the first video, when he became a "media person," while other military men have a very difficult life. As an example, he cited the story of a friend of his who was taken "out of service" with meager payments and is forced to collect scrap in the forest.
