The Odesa Regional Council has decided to transfer a Toyota Camry purchased by the Fontanska community for the needs of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to Dmytro Kovbasyuk, a deputy of the regional council, the decision was made during a session on February 27.

"Recently, rumors and assumptions have been spreading online about the car purchased by the Fontansky village council. Some tried to present it as a "scandal" and a reason for loud headlines. But the facts speak for themselves: there is no scandal. The vehicle was transferred for the needs of the Security Service of Ukraine," the MP said.

Earlier, the former head of the Odesa District Council, Vitaliy Barvinenko , said that he had prepared a statement to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine regarding the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, and the head of the Odesa Regional Council, Hryhoriy Didenko.

It was about two Toyota Camry Prestige cars purchased for UAH 1.7 and 1.8 million by Podilska and Fontanska communities in the region. Vitaliy Barvinenko said that in this way, the heads of regional authorities received "kickbacks" from the communities for the distributed funds from the regional budget.

The information about the transfer of these cars to the regional administration was confirmed to journalists by the acting head of the Fontansky village council, Andriy Serebriy, who noted that the Odesa regional council had asked for the car. However, he noted that the car was purchased for the regional council after a letter with such a request came from them.

On February 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., a plenary meeting of the thirtieth session of the Odesa Regional Council of the eighth convocation was convened in the session hall of the Regional Council (4 Shevchenko Ave., Odesa).
