Last year, local budgets received a total of UAH 359 million in tourist tax, which is 1.5 times more than before the full-scale invasion.

This was reported by analysts of the Opendatabot platform, citing data from the State Tax Service.

According to the analysts, Odesa region received UAH 20 million 310 thousand, which makes it the sixth largest region in Ukraine. One fifth of the total tourist tax in the country was paid by travelers who came to Kyiv: UAH 70.6 million. Lviv region accounted for 63.2 million hryvnias (18%), and Ivano-Frankivsk region rounded out the top three most popular regions for tourists: 46.2 million hryvnias (13%). Zakarpattia earned almost 32 million hryvnias from tourists, and Cherkasy region earned 28 million 570 thousand hryvnias.

As for the southern regions, Mykolaiv region, which is regularly shelled by Russians, earned 2 million hryvnias from tourists, and Kherson region, part of which is occupied, earned less than 100 thousand.

Companies paid 55% of the revenues - 200 million hryvnias - and fops accounted for another 159 million hryvnias of tourist tax. At the same time, in most regions, it is entrepreneurs who generate the largest share of the tourist tax. Companies prevail in only 7 regions.

At the same time, local budget revenues in Rivne region increased the most over the year - by 1.6 times. In the frontline Sumy region, the amount of tourist tax increased by 1.5 times, and in Kyiv, Ternopil, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions - by 1.4 times. In addition to the regions of active hostilities, the amount of tourist tax has also significantly decreased compared to 2021 in Mykolaiv (75%), Odesa (25%), Kharkiv (59%), and Chernihiv (17%) regions.
