Odesa region ranked fifth in terms of the number of new fops since the beginning of the year

From January to March 2026, the number of individual entrepreneurs in Odesa region increased by 775, while in Kherson region, on the contrary, it decreased by 224.

This was reported by analysts of the Opendatabot platform with reference to the Unified State Register.

Thus, Odesa region is ranked fifth in Ukraine in terms of the number of new sole proprietorships, and Kherson region is ranked second in terms of the number of entrepreneurs who have ceased operations.

Kyiv is the leader in terms of the growth of entrepreneurs, with 1,826 new sole proprietors since the beginning of the year. Lviv region is catching up - 1,651, Dnipropetrovs'k region - 1,450, and Kyiv region - 1,159. In terms of decline, Kherson region is second only to Donetsk region, where there were 479 fewer sole proprietors in the first quarter of 2026. They are as follows: Sumy region - a decrease of 204, Zaporizhzhia region - 97, and Luhansk region - 56.

The largest increase in sole proprietorships is observed in the field of retail trade outside the store - through social networks, platforms, messengers - 2,527 entrepreneurs. There are also more new cases than closed ones in education - 1,899, consulting - 1,230, other information services - 1,333, and real estate rental business - 862.

At the same time, the largest drop was recorded in retail trade in markets and stalls - 2,531 and in non-specialized stores - 1.62. The number of entrepreneurs in the repair of household goods also decreased by 291, in freight transportation by 126, and in television broadcasting by 125.

Analysts estimate that in the first quarter of 2026, 11,297 more new businesses opened than closed. In total, 63 thousand 920 entrepreneurs started their business, and 52 thousand 623 fops ceased their activities from January to March this year.
