Odesa region determines how schools will work in the next school year

Schools in Odesa region are ready for the school year that starts in two weeks and are expecting 17,990 first-graders.

This was announced by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

According to him, the region's schools are ready to accept more than 230,000 students. According to the operational information provided by the education authorities to the JMA, full-time education prevails in all districts:

Last year, there were 120 general secondary education institutions in Odesa with 98,500 students, including 5,500 children of internally displaced persons. 77% of students studied in a mixed mode. This means that they took most of their classes in person, and some remotely. Last year , Oleg Kiper also reported that 20 thousand first-graders had enrolled in schools in the region.

In total, according to the OVA, about 265,000 students went to school last year. The educational network of Odesa region includes 807 pre-school education institutions, 702 schools, 99 out-of-school education institutions, 27 vocational education institutions, 37 vocational higher education institutions, and 17 higher education institutions. About 600 schools operated in a full-time format.
