Odesa mayor's advisor returned to her post without Trukhanov

Acting Odesa Mayor Ihor Koval has reinstated MP Liliia Leonidova as an advisor to the mayor.

The corresponding order was published by the press service of the Odesa City Council.

Lilia Leonidova will continue to perform her duties as an advisor to the mayor on a pro bono basis.

Prior to the deprivation of citizenship of Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, and his subsequent deprivation of citizenship, the Odesa City Hall fired all of his advisors, of whom the former mayor had 22. Lilia Leonidova was also fired.

In October, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov appointed Lilia Leonidova, a member of the Odesa City Council, as his advisor. The term of office is one year.

Lilia Leonidova is a member of two convocations of the city council. In 2015, she was elected as a representative of Petro Poroshenko's Bloc Solidarity. She was a member of the Standing Committee on Social Policy.

In April 2020, she joined the Opposition Platform parliamentary group. In 2020, Liliia Leonidova was again elected to the city council, but this time as a representative of the Opposition Platform - For Life party.

On March 19, 2022, the deputy decided to withdraw from the Opposition Platform - For Life faction in the city council and is now an unaffiliated deputy.

Two weeks after that, 100% of the Opposition Platform - For Life deputies in the Odesa City Council left the political party.

Currently, she is a member of the Standing Committee on Social Policy and Labor, and is a member of two parliamentary groups, Equal Opportunities and Communal Resources.

In 2024, Hennadii Trukhanov extended Liliia Leonidova's term as his advisor.
