Police sent a resident of Odesa district to the dock for unauthorized occupation of a land plot on the territory of the Lower Dniester National Nature Park.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region.

The man built a recreational facility in the protected area. The suspect faces up to two years in prison. The man's illegal actions were detected and documented by inspectors of the water police sector and investigators of the Odesa District Police Department No. 2.

Law enforcement officers found that the 43-year-old resident of the Mayakivska community illegally occupied a 0.00129-hectare land plot near the Dniester River and built a gazebo on it for fishing.

According to Daria Stotska, an investigator with the territorial police unit, having collected sufficient evidence, the suspect was charged with unauthorized occupation of land plots committed on land plots of particularly valuable land.

The police completed the pre-trial investigation and sent the indictment to court. In accordance with the sanction of Part 2 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the offender faces up to two years in prison.

Last October, the Economic Court of Odesa Region also upheld a claim filed by the Bilyayiv District Prosecutor's Office to return to the state forestry lands of special value, which are part of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine, with a total area of 1 hectare and a value of over UAH 30 million.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office helped return a leased land plot with a pond to municipal ownership. The pond was in a state of disrepair and was almost dry.

Also, the Chornomorsk community of Mykolaiv region received back more than 16 hectares of agricultural land that had been appropriated by fraudsters. After the death of the head of the farm, who was the sole owner, the fraudsters forged documents and introduced themselves as new members of the farm.
