Odesa Hospitals Choose Fabrika Smaku for Catering Services Worth ₴30M

Odesa city hospitals #8 and #11 have held procurement procedures to select a company that will provide catering services to patients in the city hospitals until the end of the year.

The respective announcements were published in the Prozorro electronic procurement system.

Both procurements took place on April 18 in the format of open bidding with special features, and the only participant was Fabrika Smaku Limited Liability Company.

The company will have to supply 26,924 sets of four meals a day to Hospital No. 8 for UAH 7,802.6 thousand, and 80,000 sets to Hospital No. 11 for UAH 23,184 thousand.

Fabrika Smaku was registered in May 2015 with an authorized capital of UAH 1,000, and two months later it received an order to supply food to hospitals in Odesa. The director and owner of the company is Igor Levinzon.

Earlier, the Odesa Regional Medical Center for Mental Health, a municipal non-profit enterprise of the Odesa Regional Council , announced a tender to select a company to provide medical catering services. The auction with an expected purchase price of UAH 21 million 148.3 thousand is to be held after December 23.

The Medvedkov Lyceum in Teplodar, Odesa Oblast, has held a tender to select a company to provide catering services for students. It is about 444 students of grades 1-4 and students of privileged categories. The procurement was conducted in the format of open bidding with special features and the only participant was Fabrika Smaku Limited Liability Company.

In December 2023, Nikcenter reported that Odesa medical institutions sometimes pay twice as much for food as in other cities. And the "fake" competitors of the "Fabrika Smaku" in tenders allegedly turned out to be its employees.

In September 2022, the Center for Public Investigations analyzed the composition of companies participating in tenders for the right to feed Odesa schoolchildren and identified the main players in this market in Odesa. The experts identified Fabrika Smaku LLC as one of the leaders.
