Odesa entrepreneurs forced to pay 6 million to the state

Detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security have completed a pre-trial investigation into tax evasion.

According to the press service of the BES Territorial Office in Odesa region, investigators found that the company sold construction materials for cash in 2022. At the same time, the company did not reflect its activities in its tax returns. This resulted in value added tax evasion totaling UAH 6 million.

The company's director was served a notice of suspicion of large-scale tax evasion. In the course of the pre-trial investigation, the company compensated the losses caused to the state in full.

The day before, the detectives detained residents of Odesa region on suspicion of organizing a group of people who supplied wholesale batches of tobacco products and alcohol to Ukraine without excise stamps of Ukraine. In the course of operational and investigative actions, the SBU seized a tobacco drying and grinding line, electronic cigarettes, cigarettes in packs and by the piece, hookah tobacco, alcoholic beverages worth almost UAH 89 million.

In August, detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region secured compensation for the losses caused to the state budget by an enterprise specializing in the production of electrical distribution and control equipment.

Earlier, the Bureau of Economic Security brought a case involving a perfume company worth UAH 115 million to court. Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region have completed a pre-trial investigation into the large-scale illegal production and sale of counterfeit perfumes.
