Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region have completed a pre-trial investigation against the director of one of the municipal enterprises of the Odesa City Council on the fact of tax evasion on a particularly large scale.

This was reported by the BES press service.

The investigation found that for more than a year, the head of the company, which specializes in the comprehensive maintenance of residential buildings, by concealing the object of taxation and misrepresenting it, failed to accrue and pay value added tax to the state budget in the amount of almost UAH 7.4 million.

The company's director was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely tax evasion, duties (mandatory payments). The criminal proceedings have now been forwarded to the court with an indictment.

Earlier, detectives of the Main Detective Unit of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine completed a pre-trial investigation against two current and three former officials of Odesa Customs and the head of an exporting company in a case of tax evasion on a particularly large scale.

The Odesa-based company, which exports agricultural products, avoided paying UAH 158 million in taxes. After the intervention of the Bureau of Economic Security, the company reimbursed the state for the losses.

Earlier, Intent wrote that agricultural traders accuse representatives of the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) of putting pressure and blocking work at enterprises in the port of Odesa.

According to the participants of the event, since December 19, BES detectives, citing alleged tax evasion, have been paralyzing the activities of dozens of companies operating in the port of Odesa.
