The Kyiv District Court of Odesa has imposed a temporary arrest on two men suspected of murdering the 21-year-old son of Kharkiv Deputy Mayor Serhiy Kuzmin in Austria.

This was reported by the court's press service.

Austrian law enforcement officials suspect the men of forcing the victim into a car and locking him in for four hours, forcing him to transfer a significant amount of money from his cryptocurrency account to another person's account.

The suspects then doused the victim with gasoline and set him and the car on fire. As a result of these actions, the victim died. Having considered the request of law enforcement officers, the court imposed a temporary arrest on both suspects for a period of 40 days until a request for their extradition for criminal prosecution in Austria is received.

According to the Austrian newspaper Krone Zeitung, on November 26, a body was found in the backseat of a completely burnt-out Mercedes in the Donaustadt district of Vienna. On Thursday, police announced that an autopsy showed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

According to the Suspilne media outlet, Serhiy Kuzmin is the deputy mayor of Kharkiv. His responsibilities include the implementation of state and local policy in the field of digitalization, digital development, digital innovations, and the creation of conditions for ensuring the rights of members of the city's territorial community to use telecommunications and communication networks.
