Odesa Comic Wave, an all-Ukrainian festival of geek culture, cosplay, anime and comics, took place in Odesa for three days from July 25 to 27.

An Int' l correspondent visited the festival and prepared a detailed photo report of the events of the second day's evening activities.

Once in the courtyard of the Odesa Film Studio, our correspondent found herself in a magical world full of characters from famous movies, anime, comics and more. Tired from the heat, but still intrigued, the festival guests were just about to attend the next event of the rich festival program: K-POP Cover Dance.

As part of this event, teams of participants competed for the prize in a contest for the best performance of choreography by their favorite Korean pop artists. The next event was the cutest contest - Pets Cosplay Show. This is a fashion show for duos where the main star is a dog in a costume. The mission of the event is to show style, imagination and love for four-legged friends, as well as to support homeless animals.

Geeks are people who share a love of comics, video games, board games, or anime. The term "nerd" is close to geek, meaning someone who is passionate about science and IT. Around the images of geek and nerd, geek culture has formed, a subculture of people interested in computer technology, science, fiction, and gaming.

Meanwhile, in the Medieval Camp, the Knights fought for the hearts of beautiful ladies. Later, the main stage hosted the award ceremony for the best cosplay in the Cosplay Fashion Show category and the best performance in the K-POP Cover Dance category. The final of the festival was a concert by the RedRock choir. They performed songs from the most popular movies, anime, and games.
