In Odesa region, the director of a company evaded taxes worth more than eight million hryvnias. His case was brought to court.

This was reported by the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Investigators found that the company's CEO deliberately concealed part of the profit from the export of more than 6.6 thousand tons of sunflower meal shipped to Turkey by sea. He did not include a significant portion of the income received from this transaction in his tax returns for the first half of 2024.

According to the prosecutor's office, the actual number of products sold and the company's income significantly exceeded the data indicated in the official tax return. As a result, the amount of taxes and other mandatory payments should have been much higher. According to estimates, the state lost more than UAH 8 million in taxes.

The Bureau of Economic Security added that during the pre-trial investigation, the entrepreneur compensated for the damage by transferring UAH 8.2 million to the state budget. However, the criminal proceedings against him were still referred to court.

Earlier, an Odesa-based company exporting agricultural products evaded paying UAH 158 million in taxes. After the Bureau of Economic Security intervened, the company reimbursed the state for the losses.

Also in Odesa region, the company's financial director decided to "save" on export taxes. Through her fraud, she avoided paying almost UAH 100 million to the budget, for which she will now be prosecuted.

In addition, the BES detectives completed a pre-trial investigation into the intentional tax evasion on a particularly large scale by a company exporting agricultural products, namely wheat and corn.
