The heating season in Odesa will officially start on November 10, but Odesa residents will not receive heat immediately.

This was announced by the head of the Odesa City Military Administration , Serhiy Lysak.

As the head of the MMA explained, since the launch of heating is a complex technological process, the connection will take two weeks throughout the city. First of all, the heat will traditionally be supplied to social institutions, hospitals and educational institutions. The second stage will start on November 17 with the supply of heat to residential buildings.

However, the heating season started a little earlier in Odesa Oblast. In Podilsk, the northernmost district center of Odesa Oblast, hospitals, kindergartens and housing stock were connected to heat on November 6. The heating season also started in Rozdilna, where kindergartens and a hospital were heated.

Meanwhile, the executive committee of the Izmail City Council decided to start the heating season of 2025-2026 on November 12.

In October, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued a resolution setting the start of the heating season on November 1. At the time, the Ministry of Energy stated that the government's resolution on the imposition of public service obligations (PSO) on the gas market, which specified the date of November 1, had nothing to do with the actual launch of heating.

Heating is usually provided based on the average daily temperature in the region if it stays below eight degrees Celsius for more than three days. The 2024-2025 heating season in Odesa, for example, began on November 4, but heat was supplied gradually. At first, centralized heating was turned on in kindergartens, schools, and hospitals. At the time, the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development reported that the heating season had not yet started in Odesa and Kherson regions due to the warm autumn.
