Odesa Academy elects new rector

The new rector of the Odesa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Serhiy Dziuba, who was elected to this position at the beginning of the year, reported in his candidate declaration that he had $12,000 in savings.

According to the Center for Public Investigations, the declaration published by the NAPC also states that Serhiy Dziuba is a co-owner of two apartments and two land plots in Odesa. h

He shares the 377- and 209-square-meter plots of land with Oleksandr Dziuba, and the 33.7-square-meter apartment with his son Vsevolod, and another 54.3-square-meter apartment with Andriy and Tamara Chernenko.

He also owns 50 shares in Odesa Cable Plant Odeskabel, a public joint-stock company. Serhiy Dziuba's income consists of a salary of 440.4 thousand hryvnias and a 25 thousand scholarship from his son.

In 1995, Sergiy Dziuba graduated from the Odesa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture (OSACA), received a full higher education in Industrial and Civil Engineering and obtained a specialist qualification. Since 1995, he has worked at the Academy as a trainee teacher, assistant and associate professor.

In 1999, he graduated from the postgraduate program of OSACS and defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the specialty "Building structures, buildings and structures". His dissertation topic was "Beam metal-wood elements with the use of dowel connections". In 2003, he was awarded the academic title of associate professor at the Department of Metal, Wooden and Plastic Structures.

Since 2010, he has been working as the Director of the Center for Postgraduate Education of OSACSU on a permanent basis, as he was selected by competition. He is a part-time lecturer at the department. He is the supervisor of theses of master's degree students in the specialty "Civil and Civil Engineering" under the educational and professional and educational and scientific programs "Industrial and Civil Engineering". He provides scientific supervision of higher education students with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Sergiy Dyuba replaced Anatoliy Kovrov, who had been the head of the Academy for 10 years.
