Occupants attack firefighters in Kherson region

On August 14, Russian occupation forces in the Kherson region attacked firefighters in Stanislav.

This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.

The post says that Bilozerka rescuers and local firefighters were extinguishing a fire caused by Russian shelling when the occupiers struck again. The rescuers' vehicle was damaged by an explosive dropped from a UAV. Four firefighters who were on the street were injured. They sustained minor injuries: contusions and blast injuries. After receiving medical aid, the victims refused to be hospitalized.

The press service also said that the night before, the occupiers struck the central part of Kherson. The roof of a residential building, an outbuilding and a car caught fire in a private yard as a result of a shell hit. Rescuers quickly arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire.

In total, during the day, fire and rescue units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kherson region extinguished 17 fires, 12 of which were caused by enemy shelling. Residential buildings, outbuildings, a garage and two cars were on fire in different settlements of the region.

Four dead wood fires with a total area of 6.3 hectares were also extinguished.

Earlier it was reported that fire and rescue units of the Kherson region's State Emergency Service, together with local fire brigades, were called to extinguish the fires 20 times, 11 of which were caused by enemy shelling.

OnAugust 8, the Kherson 101 service received a report that smoke was coming out of the windows of an apartment on the second floor in an apartment building. Rescuers used a ladder to get into the apartment. As it turned out, the smoke was caused by food left on the stove, and in one of the rooms firefighters found an unconscious resident of the apartment. The man was taken out into the fresh air, given first aid, revived and transported to an ambulance.
