New water rates have been approved in Chornomorsk

In Chornomorsk, rates for centralized water supply and wastewater services were changed as of October 2. The new rate for residential customers will be 94.98 hryvnia per cubic meter.

The Chornomorsk City Council’s executive committee adopted the corresponding decision on October 2.

Of this amount, 59.46 hryvnia covers water supply, and 35.52 hryvnia covers wastewater disposal. These rates will apply to all consumers in the “residential” category.

Higher, economically justified rates have been set for other consumers. Water supply will cost 59.46 hryvnia per cubic meter, and wastewater disposal will cost 52.26 hryvnia. For businesses in the water supply and wastewater disposal sectors, both services will cost 29.88 hryvnia per cubic meter.

City council officials explained that the rates were adjusted due to rising costs of purchased water. This led to increased expenses for the municipal utility “Chornomorskvodokanal.”

The resolution also states that the local budget is unable to cover the difference and keep rates for residents at the 2024 level.

Prior to changing the rates, the utility notified consumers of the new calculations and accepted suggestions and comments for seven days. During this time, 45 submissions were received.

To reduce the financial burden on residents, Chornomorsk also plans to expand the group of recipients eligible for targeted assistance to cover the difference in rates.

The decision took effect on October 2, 2026.

As reported by Intent, on August 15, adjusted rates for centralized water supply and wastewater disposal will take effect for consumers of “Infoksvodokanal.” The new rates were established by an order of the Odesa City Council.
