The new trolleybus route to Matviyivka carried more than 2,000 passengers on its first day, providing more comfortable and affordable transportation. It has provided residents with more transportation, lower fares and free transfers.

This was reported by the press service of Mykolaivelectrotrans.

The first day of operation of the new trolleybus route to Matviyivka was a success, with 2,171 passenger trips provided by Mykolaivelektrotrans. Five trolleybuses ran on the line, which significantly improved transportation for the residents of the neighborhood.

According to the company's director, Yuriy Smetana, about 80% of passengers used the right to travel free of charge. During the launch of the route, Mykolaivelectrotrans employees actively consulted the citizens, explaining the benefits of the new mode of transport and its capabilities.

The introduction of the trolleybus route has brought many benefits to Matviyivka residents:

The new route has already found its users, and the city authorities hope that it will become an important element of comfortable transportation in Mykolaiv.

The new trolleybus route to the Matviyivka neighborhood in Mykolaiv was approved recently, in early February. As a result of the approved changes, a new trolleybus route No. 8 has appeared in the city, connecting Budivelnykiv Street with the Matviivka neighborhood. Its length is 27 km and the full circle is 49 km.

In 2024, three new trolleybus routes were opened in the city - No. 1, No. 3, and No. 10 - which improved connections to remote areas. Over 500 thousand passengers used their services in a few months.

In 2025, Mykolaivpastrans plans to significantly improve the city's transportation network. By the end of the year, the fleet will be replenished with 26 new buses, 10 of which will be on the road by July.
