Mykolaiv is once again looking for a contractor to manufacture and install tombstones for fallen soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine.

This is stated in the Prozorro electronic procurement system, according to the Center for Public Investigations.

The Mykolaiv Funeral Service has already announced a tender for the installation of 160 tombstones for the defenders of Ukraine. Back then, it was planned to allocate UAH 6.2 million from the local budget. The winner was a sole proprietor who agreed to perform the work for UAH 2.9 million.

Recently, a new tender has appeared on the e-procurement website, and its amount is UAH 4 million 580 thousand. The process of submitting proposals will continue until September 19, and the next day an auction in the format of open bidding with special features is scheduled.

According to the tender documents, the tombstones are to be made of the customer's materials, in particular gabbro: the monument measures 60x100x8 cm, the slab 70x170x5 cm, and the pedestal 4x56x5 cm. On the front side of the monument will be a portrait of the deceased (40x35 cm), the surname in capital letters (5 cm), the first name and patronymic (4 cm), the dates of birth and death (3 cm), and religious symbols (10x5 cm). On the reverse side is an artistic image or photo (97x58 cm). The plate will depict a trident (40x50 cm), ranks, medals, and military branch.

The elements of the tombstone will be connected with rebar and stone glue. The installation will be carried out after the artwork and repair work on the Walk of Fame. The headstones should be identical in style, and the artistic elements should be agreed with the relatives of the victims. Materials must be certified.

Previously, the Mykolaiv City Council received numerous complaints from citizens who lost their loved ones in the war that they could not install the monuments themselves and were waiting for the municipalities to do so. But this is not happening.

In addition, it became known that almost 700 thousand hryvnias from the budget were planned to be spent on the Ukrainization of one of the monuments in Mykolaiv. This money is supposed to change the inscription in Russian and remove the Soviet star.
