Consultations were held in Odesa to develop an updated national strategy for combating organized crime, taking into account the corruption factor.

According to the Center for Public Investigations, the event was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as part of its support to Ukraine in implementing the UN Convention against Corruption.

The consultations were part of a broader UN effort to assist the Ukrainian government in developing effective anti-corruption strategies. The participants - representatives of state authorities, civil society, academics and international organizations - discussed challenges and opportunities in the field of combating crime and corruption.

The meeting resulted in the development of targeted recommendations to be included in the updated national strategy. The document should reflect the new security and social challenges facing Ukraine after Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022.

Recently, the Kominternivsky District Court of Odesa Oblast, located in the village of Dobroslav, sentenced the former deputy head of the Fontansky village council, Petro Shchyrba, to two years and six months in prison. He was found guilty of taking a bribe to influence other officials.

Intent also wrote that the Odesa court ruled to arrest the head of the Fontansky village council, Natalia Krupytsia, giving her the opportunity to be released on bail in the amount of 9 million 84 thousand hryvnias. Before that, she had been notified of suspicion in a case related to the coastal protection in the village of Kryzhanivka. The investigation began in 2013, when she was the head of the Kryzhanivka village council.

After that, the deputies of the Fontanka village council voted to pass a motion of no confidence in Natalia Krupytsia and to terminate her powers early.
