New Head of Odesa Health Department Appointed

Olena Kolodenko, director of the Primary Health Care Center No. 3 in Odesa, has been appointed head of the Health Department of the Odesa City Council.

This was announced by the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.

In 2001, Olena Kolodenko completed an internship in the United States as part of a project of the American Public Health Association. In 2003, she received a degree in endocrinology and continued her research and PhD defense. Since 2005, she has worked as a researcher at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology, and in 2008 she received her PhD in medicine.

During 2008-2018, she worked as a doctor and later as the head of the Sanogenesis Clinic at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine at the White Acacia Complex. In 2020, she defended her doctoral dissertation and received a doctorate in medicine. From 2018 until her appointment to the City Council, she headed the Primary Health Care Center #3.

The previous director of the Health Department of Odesa City Council, Levon Nikoghosyan , resigned in early November. At one of the last working meetings in the Odesa City Council, the head of the department was offered to resign voluntarily.

Levon Nikoghosyan has been the head of the Odesa City Health Department since 2021, after he was appointed to the position to replace Olena Yakymenko. Previously, he ran the Odesa Pharm utility company and served as president of the Odesa Oblast Pharmacists Association.

At the same time, Andrii Zarytskyi, acting director of the Finance Department of Odesa City Council, was dismissed from his position. The decision was made on the basis of the official's statement, which he submitted during a staff meeting with the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, on November 3.
