Mykolayivlectrotrans utility company has been attacked by Russian terrorists again. This is not the first case of damage to transportation and infrastructure during a full-scale invasion. The company's total losses have already exceeded UAH 180 million and are approaching UAH 200 million.

This was announced by Yuriy Smetana, director of Mykolayvyelectrotrans, at a briefing.

"Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, the utility company's losses have amounted to more than UAH 180 million," said Yuriy Smetana.

Despite the significant damage, the company is gradually repairing damaged equipment. In particular, two trolleybuses with smashed windows have already been repaired. The next step is to repair a rail car, which is critical for the track service.

"We have a destroyed building that has not yet been restored. But we will do it," emphasized Yuriy Smetana.

Despite the enemy's attacks, Mykolaivelectrotrans continues to operate and restore the damaged infrastructure to provide public transportation to the city.

Recently, Yuriy Smetanasaid thatwithin a year, Mykolaivelectrotrans plans to open two new trolleybus routes, build a new trolleybus line and repair several tram crossings. The company has already begun preparatory work, including the arrangement of a control room and the purchase of materials.

In addition, Mykolaiv has decided to expand the network of municipal electric transport routes. According to the amendments, a new trolleybus route No. 8 will be introduced, connecting Budivelnykiv Street with the Matviyivka neighborhood. The length of the route is 27 kilometers and the full circle length is 49 kilometers.

In December last year, the city launched a new trolleybus route No. 1, connecting two remote neighborhoods - Severnyi and Kulbakino. Four modern PTS trolleybuses with an autonomous range of up to 20 kilometers operate on this route. The schedule is designed to accommodate peak hours to ensure comfortable passenger transportation.

Mykolaiv also decided to build charging stations for public transportation. More than half a million seven hryvnias have been allocated for this purpose. The work is scheduled to be completed no later than the end of May 2025.
