The Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office has sent to court an indictment against a 27-year-old resident of Kharkiv, who is accused of a completed attempt to commit a terrorist act.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, in August 2025, representatives of the Russian special services recruited the woman via the Telegram messenger, promising her 'quick money' for setting fire to or blowing up the car of an Armed Forces serviceman. She agreed to complete the task and received instructions.

On August 27, 2025, the suspect arrived at an apartment in Ochakiv, where she picked up a package with an improvised explosive device equipped with a mobile phone with wires connected. She then rented an apartment, purchased a new phone and portable battery, installed a program to remotely control the explosives, and created a crypto wallet to receive the reward.

The same evening, having agreed on the target with the curator, the woman planted an explosive device under a khaki Nissan car used by the commander of the military unit and installed equipment for video monitoring and remote activation.

However, she did not have time to realize her plan - she was detained by SBU officers. The suspect is currently in custody. She faces 5 to 10 years in prison. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU in Mykolaiv region.

Earlier, police investigators in Odesa opened proceedings over a death threat and illegal handling of weapons after finding them in the car of a city businessman.

The incident occurred on Pedagogichna Street. The businessman himself reported to the police about the explosives he found in his car. The police arrived at the scene and found a hand grenade fuse in the car's exhaust pipe.
