On July 29, Mykolaiv region received energy equipment for medical facilities from the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation Enabel. These are autonomous block-modular boilers, fuel tanks and spare parts worth more than EUR 3.7 million.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine Luc Jacobs and Enabel Director Dirk Despres. The aid was donated as part of the BE-Relieve Ukraine program implemented by the Belgian government in cooperation with the Ukrainian authorities. The total budget of the program is EUR 150 million, and its implementation period is 2024-2028.
Medical facilities from seven communities in the region received the equipment. In particular, they received:
In March, Mykolaiv Oblast received pumping stations from Denmark to fight forest fires. The equipment was purchased with the support of the UN and the Danish Embassy. Mykolaiv foresters, national parks and volunteer units received the stations and 500 liters of concentrated foam for spraying a foam-water solution. This equipment will significantly improve the effectiveness of forest firefighting by providing a powerful stream of water and foam for rapid response to fires.
Earlier, as part of the Hoverla project, the Mykolayivka community received technical assistance from USAID: diesel generators for utilities. In total, the assistance amounted to more than UAH 6.7 million. The generators will help maintain the stable operation of the city's critical infrastructure and improve Mykolaiv's energy security in the face of possible power outages.
