Mykolaiv region is planning to create a new municipal institution, Innovative Technologies and Networks, which will deal with digitalization and security issues.

This became known during a meeting of the regional commission on housing and communal services.

Now the decision is to be considered at the session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.

Dmytro Havryliak, Head of the Department for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, noted that the new ME will be aimed at developing information systems, communication networks, cybersecurity and digital services in the region.

The main tasks include the administration of regional IT systems, development of a video surveillance network, implementation of electronic document management, and provision of secure Internet connection for authorities and municipal institutions. The institution will also provide training and digital literacy for both officials and residents of the region, as well as provide technical support to communities.

The institution will be funded from the regional budget. At the same time, it will be able to attract grants and international technical assistance.

Expenditures envisaged in the budget for 2026 for Mykolaiv Regional Guard are planned to be transferred to the newly created institution, as the employees who will be involved in the new municipal institution are currently working in the regional guard.

The new structure does not yet have a head, and the issue of establishing the enterprise and approving the head will be considered at the session.
