Mykolaiv Region Plans ₴21.4M Bomb Shelter in Bashtanka Sports Complex

A bomb shelter is planned to be built in a sports complex in Mykolaiv region. The project, worth more than UAH 20 million, will provide proper conditions for training and sports events even in crisis situations.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.

The construction of a modern radiation shelter will begin on the territory of the sports complex in Bashtanka, Mykolaiv region. The project is aimed at ensuring the safety of visitors and employees of the facility, as well as creating appropriate conditions for training and sports events even in difficult conditions.

The total cost of the shelter construction is UAH 21.4 million, which is to be spent on construction works, connection to utility networks and purchase of the necessary equipment.

The main items of expenditure include the purchase and depreciation of equipment in the amount of UAH 946.4 thousand, connection of the facility to utility networks in the amount of UAH 870.2 thousand, construction works for UAH 12.1 million, and other capital expenditures in the amount of UAH 7.4 million.

According to the approved design and estimate documentation, the main customer is the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Executive Committee of the Bashtanka City Council. The construction contractor is ABC Construction LLC.

The construction of the shelter is part of the Territorial Community Development Strategy and is in line with national programs for the creation of civilian structures in educational institutions. Thanks to the implementation of this project, the local community will receive reliable protection in case of emergencies, as well as the opportunity to practice sports in a safe environment.

In addition, major repairs of the shelter have begun at Kryvoozerskyi Lyceum No. 1. UAH 1.5 million has already been allocated for the initial stage of work, but about UAH 15 million more is needed to complete the repairs and equip the facility. This is part of a plan to strengthen the protection of students and staff in the event of a threat.

Meanwhile, a new modern children's diagnostic center is planned to be built in Mykolaiv. The project involves the construction of a shelter for 500 people. This will not only provide highly qualified diagnostics but also ensure the safety of citizens in the event of an emergency. To implement this project, it is necessary to raise about UAH 790 million, but only 0.53% of this amount has been financed from the local budget.
