In 2024, three MPs from Mykolaiv region received compensation for renting housing, exercising their right to do so. The payments were made to Oleksandr Haidu, Oleksandr Pasichnyi and Artem Chornomorov.

This was reported by Nikcenter with reference to information published on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada.

The largest compensation for October was paid to Oleksandr Haidu, a member of the Servant of the People faction and chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Policy. For May-July, the state compensated him 59.8 thousand hryvnias.

Other "servants of the people" also received compensation: Oleksandr Pasichnyi - 19.5 thousand hryvnias, Artem Chornomorov - 19 thousand hryvnias.

However, journalistic investigations indicate that MPs and their relatives have considerable wealth. For example, in 2019 and 2020, Oleksandr Haidu reported only renting a room at the Ukraina Hotel, while his wife owned two apartments, two houses, and two plots of land in Odesa. In 2021, two houses and land already belonged to Haida, plus a rental apartment in Kyiv. In 2022, the MP bought an apartment in Odesa for UAH 642.1 thousand.

The declaration of MP Artem Chornomorov reveals interesting details: the MP, considered a millionaire, uses budget funds to rent housing, while his wife and children live in a house in Germany. In 2020, the state compensated Chornomorov for 2.5 million hryvnias for rent. Since 2019, the MP has owned various properties, including a house in Mykolaiv and a land plot in Pokrovka. Regarding cars, it is noted that in 2020 he replaced his Chevrolet Camaro RS with a 1980 BMW 518I for 49 thousand hryvnias.

Oleksandr Pasichnyi owns two apartments and a non-residential building, a shop for two with his father, an atelier building and another non-residential building for two with a business partner. All the real estate is located in Mykolaiv. His wife owns an apartment and a shop. In 2019, the MP owned two cars: Toyota Camry and a Mercedes-Benz Vito 115CDI truck. His wife used three cars: BMW X6 and Mitsubishi Outlander and a Renault Kangoo truck.

In total, in 2024, 95 MPs received compensation for rent, and the state spent more than UAH 20 million on this.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian MPs, officials, and law enforcement officers have purchased foreign real estate worth at least UAH 2 billion. Among the new owners of foreign property are a member of the Mykolaiv City Council and relatives of local law enforcement officers.

In October, a major scandal erupted over prosecutors issuing fictitious disabilities to receive payments. Among those involved were law enforcement officers from the south of the country and heads of medical and social expert commissions. According to the analysis, more than 8,000 prosecutors indicated the availability of pension payments. In 2023, UAH 288 million was spent on prosecutors' pensions.
