Mykolaiv decided to modernize trams for one billion hryvnias

Mykolaiv plans to modernize its transportation infrastructure. It was decided to raise more than a billion hryvnias in funding for the purchase of new railcars.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.

The project was initiated by the city utility Mykolaivelectrotrans. The project is planned to be implemented within 56 months.

According to the description, the purchase of K-1T104 trams will increase the mobility of the population, reduce traffic congestion and environmental pollution. This will be the first step towards the development of an environmentally friendly, efficient and sustainable public transportation system in Mykolaiv.

UAH 1 billion 560 million is to be raised for the purchase of 31 tramcars.

The goal of the project is to upgrade tram transport in Mykolaiv to improve the quality of passenger transportation, increase comfort and safety for city residents, and contribute to the creation of modern urban infrastructure. The project plans to replace old tramcars with new models that meet modern technological and environmental standards.

The Mykolaiv region has also decided to create an electric transportation network and install charging stations. It is planned to spend UAH 112 million on the project. The project envisages the creation of an electric transport network to provide urban passenger transportation and the creation of a charging network for electric vehicles, which will lead to the development of transport infrastructure.

And the Mykolaivvodokanal utility company decided to purchase an expensive solar generator. They decided to spend almost eight million hryvnias on it. According to the project description, the use of solar energy will allow the company to stabilize energy supply, especially in critical situations such as interruptions in the centralized power supply.
