Mykolaiv city council member from the Servant of the People party Tetyana Dombrovska said that there is only a week left before the city council session scheduled for December 30, where the city budget for next year is to be considered, but there are no discussions or explanations to the draft document.

She said this in a post on Facebook.

According to Dombrovska, the budget is a strategic document and, accordingly, cannot be adopted without a detailed analysis. The MP emphasized that MPs are not statisticians and have the right to familiarize themselves with the draft and study it before making a decision.

"The budget is a strategic document. It is not for show. Not for the Christmas tree. It's not one of those 'let's vote and then we'll figure it out' things. MPs are not statisticians. They have the right to see, read, analyze and only then decide on their position. There are 7 days left before the session. And there is silence all around. No invitations. No discussions. No explanations," Dombrowska wrote.

The official appealed to Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych to organize a full-fledged process to discuss and publish the budget draft. Otherwise, she said, the city risks switching to a temporary funding regime.

"Dear Oleksandr Senkevych, organize a normal process of publishing and discussing the draft budget, otherwise you will be governing with 1/12, because there are fewer people willing to vote for your skins every day. Moreover, there used to be a practice of public presentation of budget priorities," the MP said.

It should also be noted that Mykolaiv region is a leader in terms of growth in personal income tax revenues and ranked second in terms of growth in general fund revenues among other regions of Ukraine.

In 2024, the increase in personal income tax revenues to local budgets of the region amounted to 31.9%. The growth in revenues of the general fund of local budgets compared to 2023 reached 29.5%. Last year, the general fund received about UAH 451 billion, which is UAH 87.6 billion more than in 2023.
