Mykolaiv changed its mind about coastal protection: the tender was canceled

In Mykolaiv, the local authorities found a contractor to carry out coastal protection works in the Velyka Korenyha neighborhood. However, the contract was never signed.

According to the Center for Public Investigations, this became known during the monitoring of electronic procurement by Prozorro.

In the public procurement system, the Administration of Zavodskyi District of Mykolaiv City Council held an open tender with special features worth UAH 1 million 670 thousand. Only one company came to the auction with a price offer of UAH 1 million 665 thousand. It was the winner. The contract was to be signed with Mykolaivbudmekhanizatsiya, a company with additional liability.

According to the YouControl service, this company was registered in Mykolaiv in 1993. The owners are Vitalii Zubko and his daughter Hanna Zubko.

On September 9, the website posted information about the tender's cancellation. The reason given was that there was no further need for the procurement.

"According to a memo from the head of the department of communal services and landscaping, Alena Barkovska, there was a need to amend the subject of procurement and its technical specifications. In accordance with Part 1, Clause 50 of the Specifics, the Customer cancels open bidding in the absence of further need for the procurement of goods, works or services," the explanation reads.

Recently, Mykolaiv region planned to repair the bridge over the Southern Bug River. More than UAH 50 million will be allocated from the state budget for this purpose, and the submission of proposals for the relevant tender is already underway. All works will be financed from the state budget. The repairs should be completed by December 2025.
