Mykolaiv Celebrates Bulgarian Spring Festival Amid Ongoing Support for Ukraine

Mykolaiv celebrated the Bulgarian Spring Festival with words of support for Ukraine. The city was visited by the Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Odesa, Svetoslav Nikolov Ivanov.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council.

During the event in the Ternivka House of Culture, the consul congratulated the audience on the holiday and emphasized that Bulgaria has supported Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia and will continue to help. Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych also addressed the guests with words of support and emphasized that Mykolaiv has always been a multicultural city where all ethnic groups live in peace and harmony. He expressed his hope for a quick end to the war and wished all those present peace and good.

The audience was treated to a variety of performances by groups of young performers who presented Bulgarian and Ukrainian traditional songs and dances.

The city council noted that an atmosphere of unity and warmth prevailed throughout the event, uniting the two cultures in celebration of the arrival of spring.

Intent has already written about how Danish companies plan to cooperate with entrepreneurs in Mykolaiv region, in particular through the export credit agency EIFO. State-owned enterprises have the opportunity to receive a loan in the form of a grant under certain conditions.

A project to create a barrier-free environment was also launched with the support of Denmark. The focus is on the arrangement of public spaces, including the construction of justice and social protection facilities. By July 2025, the initiative plans to install about 20 ramps and other technical means to ensure the accessibility of urban space for people with disabilities, elderly citizens, and parents with strollers.

Meanwhile, Japan has provided 180 million for the construction of a waste recycling plant in Mykolaiv.
